Trends give us a sense of where things are heading in the world around us, whatever field we’re in. They help us to make our choices and determine the direction we should be moving in.
If we look to the fashion business, which is always a few steps ahead of interior, then I would predict, that the 1970s will be a big influence the coming year. Thankfully it’s not the glitzy disco version of the period that’ll be influencing décor brands and designers in the near future, but rather its craft loving, boho side. The era’s comeback is far more restrained ti the fore in worked leathers accessories, hand-stitched pouffes, macramé finishes and sea grass rugs. Colour wise we’re parting with sick green and bright orange in favour of more wholesome, layered earth tones.
