Design Hotels 2014 #9 Hotel SP34, Copenhagen

Now the time has come to Copenhagen, where I will show you the newly opened design hotel SP34, a family-run hotel by Brøchner. SP34 opened in April 2014 and has gone trough a great transformation. The hotel opened in the old Hotel Fox’s surroundings in St. Pederstræde 34 in downtown Copenhagen (hence the name SP34) and has been under reconstruction and restoration for the last year. The result is a cool, ultra modern and Nordic boutique hotel in the heart of Copenhagen.

SP34 Hotel has 118 rooms, conference center and a private cinema. In the past years the former Hotel Fox appealed to artistic souls because of its colorful, quirky decor and design. Today SP34 reflects greater the physical environment and the bohemian atmosphere found in the Latin Quarter, which encircles the hotel. This means that the buildings have been redesigned with respect for the original architecture – with newly renovated roof terraces and patios with a nice view to the surrounding neighborhood in cozy and relaxed bohemian style.

The focus on the local district has been combined with a luxurious and sophisticated look in the form of, inter alia, penthouse suites with skylight bathrooms and a balcony overlooking the city. The decor is Nordic style in black/white/gray shades with a nice focus on quality materials, wood and precious fabrics, added modern industrial lamps, Danish classic furniture and fresh greenery. The design focus is clear: originality, proximity and simplicity – the “less is more” kind of style.

Looks great! What is the price range though? I looooove special and cool design hotels like this. The price tends to be the stopper though. (Especially now that I’ll be a student again…)

I would check out their site for good offers -hotels always tend to give some good discount once in a while.
