Amsterdam is a city on the move and they breathe Copenhagen in the neck as cycling city No. 1. They have invested massively in parking for the many bicycles throughout the Dutch capital, something Copenhagen could learn from. Fortunately, there’s much more to Amsterdam than bikes – do not miss the really beautiful Rijksmuseum.

Planning a summer trip to Amsterdam, I recommend the newly opened Volkshotel. A hotel for single mothers, stockbrokers and punks rockers, dandies and poets. In short – a place for everyone. Volkshotel is the place for both relaxing and party. Where nothing is standard, not even their standard room. There are rooms that are perfect for just one person, but also rooms large enough for 4. At the very top there is a restaurant, where breakfast etc. is served with a 360 degrees view of the city, but also the place where you can jump in the wooden bathtub and sauna.

Volkshotel welcome you with a special price throughout July for only €69 – so hurry up and get your weekend booked.
