Stamp Cushions

These stamp cushions are designed by the Danish textile designer Lise Bønæs.

The cushions were actually made as part of a larger exhibition, but since there were many questions on the cushions, Lise Bønæs decided to produce them for sale – with permission from Post Danmark, which holds the copyright on the classic wave stamp.

The stamp was made by the Danish architect Julius Therchilsen in 1902. The three wavy lines represent the three major waterways in Denmark: Øresund, Storebælt and Lillebælt.

The cushions are printed in exactly the same colours as the stamps originally appeared in. They measure 40×35 and the price is DKK 375 each. They are traded in only three places in the Denmark (and apparently no online sale, sorry…): The Post & Tele Museum in Copenhagen, 1 +1 textil in Aarhus and Huset in Aarhus.
