NYC # 1, Amerikansk julepynt

I slutningen af vores tur til New York kunne vi følge med i, hvordan butikkerne startede med at pynte op til jul. Stormagasinerne var selvfølgelig allerede klar, og jeg var på jagt efter lidt amerikansk pynt, der kunne flytte med hjem til Danmark.

Det var dog virkelig svært at finde noget, der ikke var overlæsset med dekorationer i forhold til, hvad jeg synes om. Udstillingerne var skam storslåede, og det var super hyggeligt at gå rundt og kigge på, der var bare ikke så meget, der lige ville kunne overføres til min egen stue.

En ting, der var alle vegne var nøddeknækkere. I alle størrelser og farver. Ret fine faktisk, men dem kom der dog ingen med hjem af i kufferten…

At the end of our trip in New York we could follow how the stores started to decorate for Christmas. The department stores were obviously already ready and I was chasing some American decoration that could bring back to Denmark.

It was really hard to find something that wasn’t overloaded with ornamentation as opposite to the kind I prefer. The showrooms were really great and it was so nice walking around looking at all the stuff, there was just not many things that could be transferred to my own living room.

One thing that was everywhere was nutcrackers. In all sizes and colours. Really nice actually but it didn’t get back with me in the suitcase…

    Magasin har de sidste 2 år lavet nogle superfine nøddeknækkere i samarbejde med Røde Kors. Så vi må jo bare krydse fingre for at i år bringe endnu sådan et projekt.
