Palmkloof Penthouse, Cape Town

You all know Airbnb, which I often do enjoy, but I find that it is not always up to what I expected from pictures and descriptions. In Cape Town, there is IconVillas though – which is like Airbnb, just nicer, as it is more like a vacation home rental service, but still only private apartments, but again, only nice ones.

I have stayed with Iconvillas on previous trip to Cape Town, and again in December. First Albert Cottage and then a few days at Palmkloof Penthouse, because I wanted to lux it up a bit for my moms final days visiting Cape Town. If you are new to the blog, know that I do a yearly trip with my mom, and this Christmas it was Cape Town. Palmkloof Penthouse is a great space, nicely layout and nice furniture, you certainly get the South African meets Europe vibe, which I do enjoy very much.

Honestly Palmkloof Penthouse was a bit excessive for two people, as it do sleep 5, but we just had one big room each and just enjoyed all the extra space – and especially the private patio with a perfect view of Signal Hill. Palmkloof is right in the area where you want to be as a tourist. It is not the very touristy Waterfront, but Gardens, which has a very local feeling to it, based around Kloof Street as the main street, full of cute stores and restaurants.

Another thing, you get with Palmkloof, which I really do recommend, is private, enclosed parking – it just makes your life with a car so much easier.
