Let’s continue our quest for new trends of 2018. Honestly Pantone’s color of the year caught be a bit of guard. If you haven’t seen it yet, they call it Ultra Violet. When that said, last years color was green, usually the trend color really takes a while to go through the system until we really see its impact. And one of the trendies’ colors you can paint your walls with or add to your accessories is green – to go with all you houseplants of course.
The urban jungle trend we have seen the past few years is also evolving from the many small plants to bigger and exotic plants. The bolder, bigger, and voluminous you can find and fit into your home the better, it really shows that you (in theory) can take care of plants. The good thing about plants is that you can incorporate them in any style – they work in any setting.
With the bigger plants also comes a love for things in its natural and imperfect form. As I wrote the other day, repurpose and zero waste are big buzzwords. We are getting more conscious about the worlds resources that they in fact are limited and has to be used with care.
One thing is for sure. Minimalism is dead. We are quickly moving towards a modified era of maximalism – colors on the walls and furniture, all while all you things will be out in the open, maybe repainted or reused, instead of collection dust in your cupboards.
Key words: Voluminous Greenery, Modified Maximalism, Showcasing Your Life.
