Out of the House: L’Alsace with Early Bird

14 days ago I wrote about Early Bird, a concept for the impulsive food lovers, from where you every day can get a dining experience for only 2/3 of the price. As I had written about the concept, I really had to test it. Three course meal at L’Alsace was commissioned and paid for via Early Bird, 240 DKK per person – I received a text message with info shortly after – and was then settled for a the 3 courses that evening.

I had allied myself with my friend Lars and was shown to the table in the kinda empty restaurant by a nervous waiter, he seemed somewhat confused, I don’t know if they found out the Mr. Bungalow5 himself was visiting, as we quickly got a somewhat more experienced waiter allocated. The good thing about L’Alsace was that we could choose between several dishes, where several other restaurants available that night, would serve a fixed menu, I ordered the French Atlantic Oysters and Danish Belon from Limfjord, for starters, main course roast beef tenderloin with black truffle and cheese for dessert! All three really nice – the only thing to comment was that the main course might just be a bit to small for my big appetite, a few more vegetables had done wonders – but all in all a good dining experience at only 240 DKK.

Early Bird also gives the opportunity to try and experience restaurants that you might not have thought of – kind of like when you get offers via downtown.dk that you never knew you needed, but still ends up booking! For your own sake ‘like’ Early Bird via Facebook and get updates on today’s deal, perhaps you might be tempted!
