Ugens ting: Nagel-stagen

Posted by: Tine    Tags:  Doo-Wop, Fritz Nagel, louis poulsen, Nagel    Posted date:  October 16, 2012  |  4 Comments

Item of the Week: The Nagel Candlestick

This beautiful picture is on the cover of the latest version of Louis Home.

The picture is definitely chosen to present the relaunch of the beautiful lamp Doo-Wop, or the Navy Pendant, as it was originally called, when was produced the first time back in the 50s.

The picture, however, gave me also an extra excitement as my eyes fell on the Nagel candlestick, designed by the German Fritz Nagel in the 60s. It is just beautiful in its simplicity, made by many elements to a molecule like expression. It is definitely the item of the week to me – perfect as a collectible and Christmas wish. It is available in Vintage edition at DKK 90 a piece at Lysfabrikken, and in a factory fresh version at DKK 159 a piece at Lerche Design.
