For the past 10 years I have biked past the courtyard with an old horse stable in the middle, pointing out on many occasions, that it would make a stunning home with the proper attention. Frama Studio got the job and transformed the stables into a modern family home.
After visiting Frama founder Niels Strøyer Christophersen’s very minimalistic Copenhagen home, an old watchmaker shop he had transformed himself, the new owners of the ramshackle old stable knew they wanted Frama’s help.
Working in close collaboration with the couple, Frama planned the redesign of the interior section by section, while leaving the protected heritage facade, built in 1878 by Georg Møller, intact. It took them almost three years to complete incorporation custom-made pieces alongside designs from Frama’s permanent collection, as well as other designs by Vitra and Artek.
