A Monkey Turns 65

This year the world’s most famous money turns 65. I am talking about Kay Bojesen’s cute little wooden monkey, which came to life in 1951. It comprises 31 parts and is made of limba wood and sustainable teak. Every single member of the monkey family is produced in Denmark, and is absolutely unique – even though it might look easy, only a few people are authorised and have the skills to produce the tiny monkey. If you ask me, this is a gift every child should get at his first birthday, as it will just keep smiling for the rest of his life.

Check out this great video on how the little monkey is produced.
