Allan’s Obsessions: My Favorites This Week

I have really enjoyed this week. Mostly because the weather has been fantastic, so I’ve been getting in that daily dip, almost daily, and spent many hours on the balcony. I got a new sunbed, so the whole balcony looks so different now. I can’t wait to share it with you next week. Another long weekend ahead here in Denmark. Monday is a bank holiday. Long weekend or not, here is another of my obsessions to inspire you, enjoy my favorite spaces, products and my new playlist this week.

Today, I am sharing an amazing apartment high in a tower in London. I am also sharing a bunch of new product launches; two lounge chairs and a very cool, flexible shelving system. There is also news from a Danish kitchen supplier, known for its hacks, and finally I’ve also found a bunch of shoppable products for you and your balcony.

Again, hit play on that new Bungalow5 Weekly Playlist and scroll down for everything fabulous. Have fun!

Trellick Tower Apartment

The Modern House just listed this exceptional two-bedroom apartment, with a large west-facing balcony, located in Trellick Tower, one of London’s iconic buildings. Built in the late 1960s, and designed by Erno Goldfinger, Trellick Tower has been Grade II listed in recognition of its architectural significance.

Renovated 1970’s House in Hornbæk

A few years ago, I did a makeover of Michael and Cecilie living room in their newly purchased 1970s house. They are obviously now closer to finishing their in-depth restoration, in conversation with Frama you can get a closer look and read about their progress and thoughts.

Introducing The Canvas Chair in Black

The Canvas Chair is one of the last pieces Børge Mogensen designed before his untimely death in 1972, I’ve been admiring the soaped oak version ever since I saw it first in Stockholm. Now Fredericia Furniture are introducing The Canvas Chair in black lacquered oak teamed with either black or natural canvas.

Flexible Shelving

Danish design brand Eva Solo have just introduced their first shelving system with the cute name, Smile. It is flexible and super simple in its function, as you can easily move the shelves around. The shelved just slides into the pre-cut smiley slots in the wooden slats.

Spruce Up Your Outdoor Space

Warmer weather and sunny skies are here (yay!), and that means it’s time to spend more time outdoors (especially after being stuck indoors for the past few months). Start by planting some herbs in cool pots*, which can go a long way to making a space feel lush and full of life. Add pillows* to outdoor furniture will bring some much-needed softness (and make you a lot more comfortable while lounging.) And finally add a blanket* that will keep you warm throughout the night.

Influenced by Mid-century French Design

Melbourne based design studio Fomu also introduced a new chair. Their L’Art Lounge Chair draws influence from mid-century French design with a focus on finding balance between art and function while using design principals and modern production methods to achieve seamless form and details.

Not Just IKEA-Hacks

Reform has taken a big step in its ongoing evolution as a company; the
design-led, Danish kitchen brand, known for it’s many designer hack kitchen, is introducing a patented, modular cabinet system in the
efforts to give the Reform kitchen a lasting and versatile interior that matches the quality-
driven design of the award-winning exterior.
