Breathtaking architecture by Vincent Van Duysen

Do you know the special feeling, when you are getting completely quiet, while looking at a picture and just watch what happens? It feels a bit like standing on a gallery in complete quietness looking at art. It can be difficult to talk, if you get caught in a mood and your senses are taking over.

This was the exact felling I got, the very first time I became acquainted with the Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen and saw a few of his projects on some great photos. I was amazed by the images and wanted to explore his universe of incredibly beautiful architecture.

For more than two decades, Vincent Van Duysen has created exquisite buildings, private homes, furniture and interior worldwide, from his studio in Antwerp, in a broad range of refined materials. The results are crisp, kept in raw materials and muted colors. He plays with contrasts, proportions, elegance and light in the architecture, and he has a very special sense to highlight beautiful hidden details. His work is very much in line with the Nordic style and that is probably why my eyes stopped at his name. I love the Nordic light and the pure minimalism.

Vincent Van Duysen has won a number of awards in the industry and he is the man behind many stunning design projects for leading international manufacturers such as Tribu, B&B, Italia, Poliform and Swarovski. His latest addition of work is the new Calvin Klein flagship store in Hong Kong.
