I don’t have the convenience of a wide selection of coffee shops just outside my front door after I have moved. Obviously the best part is I save a lot of money, worst part is that I now have to do the hard work myself. No bees, no honey right? Well almost. For the past month, I have tested two of Siemens full automatic coffee machines, all you have to do, is add water and beans – and milk if you want your latte or flat white – and then freshly grinded and brewed coffee is served in an instant.
I tested the EQ.3. and the EQ.9, which is slightly bigger and includes a few more features. The biggest difference I found is the adding milk to your coffee features. On the EQ.3. (smaller and cheapest) you add the milk to your cup before adding the coffee, as you have to pull down a little tap which heats the milk directly in the cup, with the EQ.9. you don’t have to do anything, as the milk is kept in a removable container on the side. So basically you just have to push one bottom!
Obviously there are more great features with the bigger and more expensive machine, like the individual coffee system, which remember the preferred settings for up to 6 people, from the strength of the coffee to the size of the person’s favorite cup. Also, it brews two cups at the same time, and finally it’s the most noiseless Siemens machine.
One thing I love is bringing home different beans from my travels, that way, you are right back at your favorite coffee shop on a rainy day in Copenhagen. Both machines allow you to add beans, which is the whole point really. You buy your own and the machine takes care of the rest – It couldn’t be simpler.
And the VERY best part – one of you guys can WIN the EQ.9. (pictured below). All you have to do is sign up for my monthly newsletter before the end of the month (May 31st) – add your email to the sign-up bar to the right. I’ll pick a winner among the subscribers, which will be announced in the newsletter. Obviously.
