Honestly, I don’t remember the last time I was so excited about anything. Today, I can finally release the first episode of a project that started as an idea more than 2 years ago. In a world dominated by mass-consumption and throwaway culture, I wanted to take a closer look at why authentic craftsmanship is better and what’s behind the design process in order to give you an insight into the different types of outstanding craftsmanship.
I’ll take you through four episodes visiting four different, very talented, craftpeople. I teamed up with Nespresso and meet each of the four craftspeople with a different coffee maker and new delightful and recyclable coffee capsules.
Hailing from a backyard in a former industrial and dockland area of Islands Brygge, Copenhagen, Studio Arhoj has been running their independent design and production studio since 2013, crafting all hand thrown and hand casted pottery and ceramic design items, which can be found all around the world.
The founder, Anders Arhøj has always been fascinated about character design, which you’ll also see in many of his pieces, best known is probably his Ghosts. All Arhoj are designed and manufactured from the studio, passing in and out of one of their 12 kilns daily. And through the in-studio store, visitors can witness the entire process from lump of clay to removal from the final firing.
All episodes are in Danish, but all with English subtitles (you might have to activate it, when you hit play above), so there are no excuses not to watch. Now, go make a cup of coffee, lean back and enjoy.
Paid partnership with Nespresso. Thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. Thanks for supporting collaborations that I am excited about and that have kept Bungalow5’s doors open.
