Whether they start with something as humble and unadulterated as a piece of wood or a lump of clay it is the notion of transformation during the process of crafting that defines each piece of a crafted product. The raw material in the hands of a skilled artisan is where the true potential lies and is in part what makes the outcome so exciting. Again, I am releasing a new episode of my Coffee Talk with Craftspeople, made in collaboration with Nespresso.
I’ll take you through four episodes visiting four different, very talented, craftspeople. I teamed up with Nespresso and meet each of the four craftspeople taking a different coffee maker and new delightful and recyclable coffee capsules.
Since 2004 award-winning, self-taught Danish designer Tom Rossau has been creating handmade lights from his workshop in Copenhagen. A purveyor of form, he has gained recognition for his veneer light collections worldwide.
I am in awe of how he keeps creating amazing forms by manipulating the thin wooden veneer into different shapes. The glow the finished lights gives are just perfect, it’s very warm and welcoming. In this episode we get a look on how he works, how the lamps are created and talk about why it is so important to keep creating handcrafted made-in-Denmark design.
Remember all episodes are in Danish, but all with English subtitles, so just make sure to activate it, when you hit play. Now, go make a cup of Nespresso, sit back and enjoy. And please hit that like button and fell free to leave a comment. Thank you.
Paid partnership with Nespresso. Thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. Thanks for supporting collaborations that I am excited about and that have kept Bungalow5’s doors open.
