Designhotels 2014 #1 – Ett Hem Stockholm

Summer is upon us and it is time to pack your bags and take off to holiday paradise, sun and relaxation. Whether your holiday paradise is a place where you can have sand on your feet in a quiet and secluded retreat place, on a active cultural holiday, or in the vibrant city, Bungalow5 gives you some recommendations on design hotels around the world. The chosen hotels are all selected because of the tastefully decoration, interior, atmosphere and the focus on giving the guests a special experience they will never forget.

Here we give you the selected hotels that we at Bungalow5 would love to visit on our summer holiday.

In the middle of Stockholm’s Östermalm district is a little treasure of a designer hotel; the intimate boutique hotel “Ett Hem” (“A home”). As the name suggests this is a hotel that offers a bit more than most other hotels. The hotel delivers an experience that gets visitors to forget about being far away from home. Behind the decoration of the hotel is the British interior stylist Ilse Grawford, also known for her work for Danish Georg Jensen. She has transformed the old magnificent town house build in 1910, from top to bottom and added a laid-back, Nordic and implemented atmosphere in a wonderful mix of design classics, antiques and new up-coming Scandinavian interior. The decoration is both homely and cozy in a nostalgic and richly detailed universe with large sofas you can comfort yourself in with a good book and a cup of tea and also a modern style with tight color combinations and material mix.

There is truly a full focus on “customer – relations’ and if you are checking in on this hotel, you also have the possibility to take a walk with the hotel dog, enjoy a cold glass of white wine in the cozy orangery or garden or take a ride in one of the cool cars from the hotel garage.

Are you into cozy accommodation, fascinated by the special focus on every little detail and do you love to be inspired for your own home decoration then “Ett Hem” in Stockholm is a must-do-kind-of-thing on your next getaway or holiday.
