Formland – The Danish Interior Design Fair + Why I am Going (again)

First on my fair agenda next year is Formland, the bi-annual Danish interior design fair in Herning. The spring edition takes place January 30 – February 2. The fair is the Danish interior design event attracting both local and international buyers. It is a great source for deciding and forecasting upcoming interior design trends – and a great place to meet a lot of different upcoming and leading brands.

The fair focuses mainly on Danish design, interior, and even food. Among the 300+ brands exhibiting you’ll find both large and small brands, and they even give lots of floorspace for upcoming talent. The layout of the spacious fair is perfect, which gives you plenty of space to walk around and you really never feel overwhelmed, which is the case at so many other fairs.

Creators Community

The key here is to showcase talent, creativity and entrepreneurship. Formland gathers the most talented entrepreneurs from Northern Europe at the pulsating startup event Creators Community.

Many great entrepreneurs have started their journey here including Morten Sørensen from ISH Spirits and Harald Hermanrud with his award winning shelving system.

Trend zone

I am always massively impressed by the different trend zones, once again it will be the very talented women Mille Fly and Sofie Helsted, Studie Flyhelsted, who will be the creators of this seasons trend zone. The trend zone called ‘The Art of Living’ will reflect the art of being human, and showcase three different abstractions of the home , where ‘to live’ and ‘to be’ sustainable are merged into one kind of lifestyle.

There is a ton of interior design and furniture brands on display. You’ll find the bigger Danish brands such as Broste and Woud, but the best part is that there is a lot of smaller Danish producers such as Form & Refine, Runewood, and Kodanska. It is always such an inspiration to see and visit the proud brand owner showing of their latest, often handcrafted, creations.

I will be attending and reporting on Formland. If you are there too, come say hi – or keep an eye out for my on-site coverage on Instagram and of course my post-fair feature once I am back in Copenhagen.

Book your tickets to Formland here. Purchase tickets before Dec 12 to get the discounted price, only DKK 50. Please note that this is an industry event so only those who can provide a CVR (tax number) can attend.

Paid partnership with Formland. Thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. Thanks for supporting collaborations that I am excited about and that have kept Bungalow5’s doors open.
