If you didn’t already know, I am already knee deep into Stockholm Furniture Fair and I am frantically trying to get around to meet and see everyone. I actually added an extra day, which in theory should mean, less stress, that’s not the case.
One of the news launching during this week, I already teased a bit about the new collaboration between iittala and Jasper Morrison, a new tableware collection, called Raami – ‘frame’ in Finnish – a few weeks ago. And just last week, I got a sneak peek and a sneak test – and it looks and feels amazing.
If you are anything like me, you like to entertain, but you like the process of cooking and setting the table even more. It is all about framing the perfect evening, even if it’s just for a casual and quick dinner on a weekday. It is important to me that the tableware I have is versatile enough to be used for any occasion – it should be great for dinners, but also brunch in bed on Sundays.
Each item in the Raami collection is an individual; perfect on its own, yet perfect as a group. Like a family, or a group of friends, each member brings their own characteristics to the table.
I really like the simplicity of the collection. The feeling of Raami is familiar, something you’ve known throughout your life, but when taking a closer look, its fine characteristics come out.
The Raami collection is shaping up, already, to be a great new tableware for the dinner table in years to come.
Posted in partnership with Iittala. Thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. Thanks for supporting collaborations that I am excited about and that have kept Bungalow5’s doors open.
