FSC Design Award 2010

Arkitektstuderende Mette Schelde vandt i 2010 prisen FSC Design Award, en konkurrence hvor unge designere viser, at smukt og funktionelt design også kan være bæredygtigt.

Mette vandt foran 76 konkurrenter med det enkle træbord “Side Table”. Med prisen fulgte en rejse til en rejse til Brasilien, hvor Mette skal besøge en FSC-certificeret skov for at opleve, hvordan en skov drives bæredygtigt. På rejsen skal hun også i samarbejde med lokale håndværkere være med til at udforme en prototype af bordet. Mette Schelde er i Brasilien lige nu, og hendes rejse kan følges på FSCs hjemmeside.

Out of the House: FSC Design Award

Mette Schelde, a danish student of architecture, won the 2010 prize FSC Design Award. The award is a competition where young designers show that beautiful and functional design can also be sustainable.

Mette won ahead of 76 competitors with a simple wooden table “Side Table”. With the award came a trip to Brazil, where Mette are going to visit an FSC-certified forest to see how the forest are managed sustainably. On her journey she must also in cooperation with local craftsmen develop a prototype of the table. Mette Schelde is in Brazil right now, and her journey can be followed at the FSC website.
