There is a new favourite blogger/Instagram restaurant in town. Not only is the food great, but the decoration is also very friendly to the eye aka. you are guaranteed great photos to share with your followers.
Väkst is Cofoco’s newest, Nordic restaurant in the street of Sankt Peders Stræde no. 34. A greenhouse has been built through the two floors of the space, the upper floor is filled with green vegetation, and incandescent bulbs are hanging from the ceiling in chains along with sails.
I was invited to try out Väkst the other day and I didn’t leave disappointed. I have always been a big fan of Cofoco’s food, as you are guaranteed to eat good food with superb ingredients. It is primarily Nordic cuisine but with preference given to vegetables and herbs without being outright vegetarian.
The heart of the restaurant is the large greenhouse, built through the two floors of the space, thereby transporting the guest into the sensation of a lush garden – right inside the city. On the top floor of the restaurant, plants, growths, and leaves thrive in the light from the large windows facing the street of Sankt Peders Stræde. In the basement floor, the garden party continues; just like plants live partly underground, so does the restaurant. It has a particular ambience, reminding you that you are seated right in the middle of the underground of old Copenhagen.
