Glimpse of tomorrow’s designers

For those of you who keep or read Berlingske (a Danish national newspaper), maybe read my column “Now we hate them because everyone has them!“? The point was that I wish more of the larger Danish design companies dared to invest in more of the new design graduates. I am well aware that there certainly is many of you out there who dreams about those Eames chairs, Arne’s Ant or Poul’s PK22, but is not time we show some love to the new designers – in fact, many of them are really something! Look for example at these fine specimens by students from Made In School.

The lamp On the Edge by Kathrine Lønstad, chair Haptic Chair by Trine Kjaer, daybed by Anita Johansen – 3 very good glimpse of tomorrow’s designers if only the design companies would look to the future instead of the past.

I certainly agree with your point Allan. There are many great designers of today who will no doubt be stars & icons of the future. But… offer me a PK22 & I’ll want it. It’s a classic.

Totally agree – just dont overdue it. Many tend to only go for the classics of the past, companies and consumers included. Both need to look for the future also.
