Gør I?

Celeb meet kitchens!

Yesterday on our Facebook page I posted a picture of an ad for Invita where Jim Lyngvild (a Danish celeb) is used to promote the kitchen as the great expert. It is certainly not the first time that celebrities are used in this context, who have not seen the advertisement which shows Mads Christensen also for Invita or top model Heidi Klum strutting in Franke kitchen – but honestly, why? I can simply not see the synergy! Do you? Does it really sell that “fashion editor” Jim Lyngvild has an opinion – even if he never has been nearer to an Invita kitchen than the door, he has in his hands on the picture – how much Everline brings nature into the kitchen in a new way? And a wooden grip is hardly a new way? I really do not understand!

I suppose the point is to reach the general public, who don’t really care if the celebrity is related to the subject or not – but everytime they see the brand or need a product, they’ll associate it with Jim Lyngvild , and that’ll make them remember the brand (which i think is the point here).
If I agree with it? no, i don’t, I think they’d be able to find someone more suitable for the ad, but I can see the point.. example: here, in Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo and José Mourinho sell for themselves, it doesn’t matter if they do know what they are talking about, if they’re advertising a bank, a retail store or watever – the simple fact that they are there, boots sales and the brand recognition.
