Kitchen of the Week: A Perfect Scandinavian Design top-of-the-line English Inspired Kitchen

The most important thing in a kitchen for Sara Aagaard, the owner of the Copenhagen design store Shop Dora, is that you can feel and see the life of the people living there. She and her husband and their two boys lives in a grand 1928 villa in Frederiksberg, Denmark, with their open shelf kitchen with plenty of space to showcase her many beautiful collector’s items, heirlooms and cookbooks, creating a personal and easy access kitchen.

I love the fact that they choose a kitchen that could be the original built at the same time as the house. They combined their existing formal dining room and a smaller kitchen, took inspiration from the atmosphere of the house, the moldings, the high skirting boards, and created, together with Swedish company Kvänum, a perfect classic top-of-the-line English inspired kitchen – in a Farrow & Ball studio green!

The combination of the colors created an airy, modern, and very functional space that fits perfectly with the 100-year-old house, but still super fresh.
