Kitchen of the Week: A World-renowned chef’s Open Custom Kitchen

It is men like renowned Danish chef René Redzepi that has helped making Copenhagen one of the top (food) destinations of the world. From hos experimental restaurant, Noma, in Christianshavn, Copenhagen he has developed pure food magic – I’ve had the pleasure of eating at Noma twice.  I wonder if a world-renowned chef leaves the cooking to his wife when he comes home?

Nevertheless, they asked Garde Hvalsøe, three cabinetmakers, and a Dinesen wood architect, to designer and build their family home kitchen. I featured a sneak peek into his former kitchen, a much more traditional kitchen and wonder how you survive without an open wood burning fireplace in your kitchen? Here is a look at the amazing open wooden kitchen. Note the full length kitchen workspace, the exposed beams, the weathered brass fixtures, and all those details of the cabinetmakers work.
