Kitchen of the Week: Lukas Grahams Stunning and Sustainable Kitchen

Let’s get this year started with something easy for the eye and easy to digest. I for one is still in holiday mood, I need a few more days where I just kick back and do the minimum of work, so what’s better than to kick it all off than a kitchen of the week?

Enter the sustainable kitchen of Danish singer Lukas Forchhammer and his family, which I came across just before the holidays, while waiting for his approval to share, I’ve been listening notoriously to his great hits. Lukas is lead singer in the band Lukas Graham, which debut album went straight to the album list in 2011 and with a little help from Conan O’Brian, Elle DeGeneres and Jimmy Fallon their mayor hit “7 Years” has been played more than 600m times.

In a beautiful 1756 house in Copenhagen’s Christianshavn Lukas has just finished the renovation of their new kitchen where sustainability was very important. The solid brown oak gives a great warmth and is perfectly contrasting to the black herringbone fronts on parts of the kitchen. The kitchen is thought as a piece of furniture inside the room, where some parts pull out for extra seating. Such a great idea, don’t you think?

The kitchen is designed by architect Julie Agerley, Bo-tikken.
