INTERIORS TRAVEL

NYC: Michele Varian

Ellers var alle sparepengene blevet lagt her!

When I was in NYC I visited a lot of interior shops, but it is no secret that it can be hard to find something really special, as many Americans seems to have a quite different taste than Scandinavians when it comes to interior design.

Fortunately, there are always exceptions, and I came across this fantastic shop, which must be on my personal top 10 list of the coolest interiors shops I’ve ever visited. The shop is called Michele Varian and contains everything you could ever dream of, if you want to add a little edge to your home. The decor of the store is raw, but cozy, and if you’re going to NYC please use plenty of time for a visit – you will spot new details also on your fourth round around the shop! Porcelain skulls with gold teeth, iron rulers, letters of concrete, raw lamps with glass shades, fusion porcelain, small perfectly formed shoes in iron, so much beautiful ceramics, cool pictures, and much, much more. And I would not forget to mention the incredibly friendly and welcoming staff at the shop, what a pleasure!

The downside for me was that we visited the shop on one of our last days in NYC. Otherwise, all my savings would have been spend here!

Michele Varian also has a webshop, but they only ship in the U.S. because of the expensive postage cost to Europe. However, if you find something you can not live without, you can mail the shop, and then they will find a postage price for you.

PS. I’m so sorry for the photo quality of my Iphone images, but I didn’t bring my camera that day.
