Original Decor with Bruun Rasmussen

Most Scandinavians do not like to stand out to much, which I think is also one of the reasons, we kind of all dress alike and decorate our home very similar. You will probably find the same 5-10 design icons in every home. The last couple of years, after the financial crises ended, we have slowly moved in another direction, we have learnt that not everything should be bought new just to be replaced by another new item a few months later. Our throw-away mentality has really change, for the better. We are more and more looking for originality, which is why flea markets and auctioneers like Bruun Rasmussen is a place for everyone these days. I like when I see homes where you find items that you haven’t seen before. A lot of furniture also just gets prettier over time, especially when it comes to leather, just look at the Spanish Chair by Børge Mogensen I found above.

I recently teamed up with Bruun Rasmussen. I went to check out their premises in Copenhagen, to search for hidden treasures. It’s truly amazing what you can find if you spend a few hours there.

You find everything from modern furniture to vintage ceramics. Of course you don’t have to go their physically, you can also just make a bid on an item found on their website. I had a very fun day. I am going to share my find via my Instagram accordingly.

Today I want to share a little movie that Bruun Rasmussen made together with Mads Arlien-Søborg. Mads roamed the auction for treasures like me and found his favourites too. Find all his favourites here and go follow my Instagram to see mine.
