I like to check in and browse through Airbnb homes from time to time. Weird? Maybe, but the best inspiration to me is really to see how other people live. I know people just go to open houses for fun, but I can’t get myself to snoop around IRL. Airbnb seems more legit to me.
Anyway. On a recent scroll, I came across this picturesque mid-century cabin nestled in the forest…with its own private riverfront! Surrounded by greenery, a magical view of huge forest trees and 100 meters of private river frontage just one hour from Portland. And just to make it even more perfect, it got the nicest interior – every corner is just Instagram heaven.
Story has it that the two owners Karie Higgins and Lee Gibson got the house after deal fell through with another buyer, so they swooped in and got working on the run-down waterside cabin. They both come with a background in spatial design, so it was pretty straight forward for the two to transform the 1963 cabin into what it is today. It’s obvious that they are very influences with the Scandinavian style – I spot items from Ikea – mixed with California casual.
