The mailbox is quickly filling up with sneak peeks of all the goodies all our favorite brands are releasing this year. Let me warn you right now, if you are anywhere like me, you want to get all of these right this moment. I really love how Danish design is growing, and I love that so many brands keep pushing new products. This season you’ll see a lot of new cool design, where bold curves seems to be a common feature. I also love how so many brands are evolving from the sleek and calm Scandi vibe we know and pushing it to a more colorful and vibrant feel.
Ferm Living // It’s definitely not easy picking a favorite from the massive catalogue I just received in the mail, but this season Ferm Living is introducing the Rico series, which is a curvy and voluminous sofa and armchair, which looks pretty amazing to me. I can’t help but love the shell pot as well.
Gubi // This season Gubi is bringing back a few of Marcel Gascoin’s most well-known pieces, the C-Chair and the Tréfle stool, both designed in 1949. I just love the voluminous and vigorous legs of the C-Chair juxtaposed by an straw seat, and it surely fits perfectly into a time where we embrace the darker woods in Scandinavia.
Menu // You know I have a lamp addiction, I try to limit myself, but somehow, they seem to sneak in. Menu is launching a new pendant designed by Norm Architects, which just looks perfect for a clean, Scandi modern look.
Lyngby Porcelain // At a recent event, a new vase was released. For years we have loved the tubular iconic vase, but now it gets a curvy sister, which I am all for. It will be a great addition to any home.
&Tradition // Among many new very cool product launches from &Tradition this season, designers Sami Kallio and Jakob Thau have created a chair that champions a design element usually concealed: the supportive seat webbing. Crafted using natural linen fibers, the flexible and comfortable webbing envelops the body for maximum comfort. While Betty, yup that’s its name, comes in three contemporary and classic frame colors, I am SO excited to see it in maroon.
byLassen // for all those plant lovers out there, you are going to love this one. byLassen is also giving their recently launched Kubus vase a sister, a Kubus Flowerpot, perfect for all your green plants. And they have even developed a tiny hook, so you can hang them directly on your walls, I am so ready for a balcony makeover.
Muuto // Speaking of balcony makeover. Being the first-ever outdoor furniture from Muuto, the Linear Steel Series by Thomas Bentzen brings the ideas of functionality and longevity into the outdoors, joined by understated detailing and clean lines for a modern expression.
Iittala // The Finnish brand is launching a whole new dining collection designed by Jasper Morrison, and by the looks of it, it will be a perfect addition to my any table. I just love the iittala brand for its simple, yet different designs, and I really think the new dining collection will be a huge success.
Vipp // Before Christmas Vipp annouced their upcoming furniture collection. With a hotel its a pretty natural step for them to tap into a furniture design market, which in many ways they already have with shelves, a kitchen, and lamps. I am excited to see the full furniture collection, which includes sofas, rugs, lounge chairs, coffee tables, and chairs.
Eva Solo // Speaking of brands taking setting of on a new journey with furniture, Eva Solo known for kitchen utensils have given us a very small sneak peek of their furniture collection, which is being launched next month. It is very exciting to see if they will succeed in making the jump into the rest of the house.
Motarasu // I am really excited about this one – it’s a new Danish brand. They are merging Danish and Japanese design into one, combining the naturalness of Japanese aesthetics with the warm and experimenting Nordic design traditions. It sounds pretty amazing to me, what do you think?
Isn’t all this exciting? Would love to hear which you are most excited about.
