Thoughts on my New Kitchen Vision & Dreams

Why is it that you can never just appreciate what you got? Last year I gave my kitchen a little quick makeover, but I am already bored with it again. Don’t get me wrong, I love my wallpaper (if you have no idea what I am talking about, check it out here before reading on), but I am really not feeling the white front or the grey laminated counter top for that mater. I am dreaming about bring more life into it, wooden fronts and a stone top.

What the dream is changes every day. Yes I know, I am not easy to satisfy, but right now I love, as in LOVE, this kitchen, the aqua colored stained fronts and the white marble top are just heaven. However, I am slightly worried that I will grow tired of the colored fronts too quick, so maybe I should opt for a more traditional, yet modern and Nordic version. A darker wood with grey limestone tops and grey wall cupboards, just like the newly launched Nordiska kitchen.

I also really like the open asymmetric shelfs, which really brings a bit of drama and something for the eye to explore. Of course that also means no hiding, so I might need to bring out my inner Sundling Kichén, who styled this kitchen perfectly.

What do you think? Is a aqua stained kitchen the way to go? Or should I opt for the more traditional grey kitchen?

It’s sadly human nature. I find a design I love and then before I even put it in place I tire of it. I do love your kitchen, because it’s different than what would come from my own head. The colored cabinets idea are great but yes maybe too much of a color commitment. Surely there’s a way to tweak what you have so you love it. Maybe a splurge item you can add or lighting. We are moving into a different smaller house and I have free range to decorate all new rooms within a serious budget of course. I already am stressing about getting tired of the decor and we’re not even there yet! Lol.
