Out of the House: Weinmeister Berlin

Last week’s out of the house was inspired by a number of European hotels, and one of them, the Weinmeister Hotel Berlin, I was actually lucky enough to visit Thursday to Friday last week.

Located in central district Mitte, an area filled with shops, galleries and numerous of restaurants and bars. The hotel has 84 rooms all elegantly decorated with a minimalist style with emphasis on comfort.

I was booked into a medium room and the first thing that greeted me as I entered was a large bathtub and a huge floor-to-ceiling bed frame, which almost acts as a room within the room. Of course, the room includes bath and toilet – and let it be said that one should not be shy to stay in these rooms – only right door in the room is for (and pardon my French) the john! For the shower you only have a glass door to close, so if you cannot tolerate that the one you are spending the night with can watch you naked, you should probably reconsider the hotel.

On the top floor you can also visit the nice spa and even better an outdoor terrace with bar and everything!

The decor and design of the hotel I can certainly not put a finger on – but I will comment on the somewhat dubious service at the reception and bar. First and foremost, I think that when you want to maintain a high level of design, then your employees should definitely radiate it, and here it would have been nice to see them in nice uniforms. Also, it must be demanded that those who serve people at the reception and the bar actually knows how to use a credit card machine – when I handed my MasterCard, she looked like she had never seen a credit card and hardly knew what to do! Furthermore, we had to drop a quick lunch because the service at the bar was simply just too slow, but we were also the only ones there!

Overall – I would definitely recommend the hotel for a cheeky weekend in Berlin for the rooms are really porn! It is not the last time I visit The Weinmeister Hotel and maybe they can work a little with the reception and bar in the meantime?
