Yayoi Kusama at Louisiana

Even though I am not the biggest museums goer, I just had to go see Louisiana’s big autumn exhibition with one of the biggest artist in contemporary art, Yayoi Kusama. I am pretty sure even if you are like me; not really paying too much attention to art in general, you know this one.

Kusama have become world know by her very colourful universe and especially her dots are very recognisable. Louisiana’s exhibition of Kusama tells the full story of this Japanese artist who with prodigious productivity has created an entire world unto itself, in which colour, patterns and movement together bear witness to her fascination with the infinite.

First part of the exhibition is a bit trivial if you ask me, a lot of work with fabric tubes, which is fun but at the same time very weird. I really liked the second half, where Kusama’s dots really take over the exhibition, the big red and white balloon room is so much fun.

In any case, you should really consider a trip to Louisina – the exhibition runs to January 24th 2016, so plenty of time.
